  1. Is the Siskiyou Opportunity Center a non-profit organization? Yes, we are a 501c3 non profit organization.
  2. Is my Donation Tax Deductable? Yes, because we are a 501c3 organization all donations made to us are tax deductable.
  3. How can individuals or businesses support the SOC? Siskiyou Opportunity Center accepts donations, seeks grants, and has a partnership donation program. For more information and to see our wish list please go to our "Make a donation" page.
  4. Does SOC use volunteers? At this time the Siskiyou Cpportunity Center does not accept volunteer help for serving our clients. If you are interested in helping with other functions contact us at (530) 926-4698.
  5. Does SOC give tours of the facilities? Yes, we do give tours of our facilities by appointment.
  6. Can the public buy your items?YES! we sell all of our wood products from our Mt. Shasta facility. If you would like to see or purchase any of our items, please stop by our showroom at 1516 South Mt. Shasta Blvd. in Mt. Shasta Ca.
  7. When is Firewood, Furniture, and Fencing available for sale?We sell all of our items year round. Firewood may be sparse in spring and early summer, but we have plenty by late summer and fall.
  8. Does the Siskiyou Opportunity Center serve children? No, all of our employees are 18 years of age or older. We design our services to meet the needs of the adult disabled population in Siskiyou County.

 

9. How much is the confidential Shredding Service? We charge 30 cents per pound of unshredded material. This includes pickup, shredding, and recycling of shredded material.

10. How does SOC ensure the confidentiality of pre-shredded documents?Each person using this service signs a contract with the SOC that states the SOC will take responsibility for the confidentiality of all documents received. Prior to shredding all documents are kept in a locked and alarm secured facility. Reading of documents by SOC Personnel is strictly prohibited.

11. Is the Siskiyou Opportunity Center Hiring? We do not accept appications for staff postitions until a position is open and needs to be filled. Job listings will be advertised in house, in local newspapers, and may be posted on our website. You can also stop by and check with us.

12. How are the consumer positions filled? Our consumers come to us by referral from Far Northern Regional Center and the Department of Rehabilitiation. We accept referrals year round.
